Ni! Ube again?

Yesterday the whole family went to the Woodland Park Zoo. Kora saw penguins, lions, gorillas, giraffes, and some primates with long white tails.  We bought salted pretzels but Kora is too little for salted pretzels so she had some more mashed ube mixed with a little water.  She didn't see many animals after her lunch because she was sleepy and her little face cold so K zipped her up in the front-pack and she spent the rest of the walk cozy and protected from the cold air. Then we went out and got fish and chips at Ivar's on Lake Union and ate them in the car, but Kora didn't have any fish and chips because she is too little for that.  

However, she did request a cod mousse for today, so that's what we'll make for her.

Baby Kora is a good eater. But yesterday and today she started getting fussy while eating. Then came the teddy-bear poop face, which is like winnie the pooh smiling, except it's not because he found honey, it's because he's bearing-down (pun intended). I talked to a nurse today about Kora's poop and described it as Teddy Bear Poop Face and she said, "I know exactly what you're talking about." Anyway, babies are allowed to grunt and push a little while pooping, but it seems like Kora might need a little more water with her food along with more fiber. The goal is "mashed potato" textured poop, not "smashed ube," I guess. (Smashed ube in, smashed ube out?) TBPF arrived 3 times today, all during mealtimes. I guess her high chair is her #1 place to #2. Maybe eating just reminds her body to make room for more food. Ayna! Avocado!

Maong a Pasko ed sikayon amin! ¡Feliz Navidad! Merry Christmas! Originally we were making that Kora food and giving it to her over three days, but over the week of Christmas we've been making one-off portions.  Yesterday her amá made her more calabacín, and at one point I think it was mixed with some tomato puree.   Today her amá made her baby guacamole; mashed avocado mixed with dede. The avocados were jumbo from McPherson's, I think $1.50 each. We can get more tomorrow.  Maybe after the holidays we'll go back to meal prepping for Kora, but for now, she's getting special edition made-to-order dishes. She usually eats with an audience on facetime, and she's always masiba.
